As a resident of Adams County for the past 30 years, I am grateful for the way State Sen. Beth Martinez Humenik represents us as her constituents. During a time when there is so much political partisanship, Sen. Humenik is a centrist who does not necessarily vote on party lines. She votes for what is best for the citizens in her district, which includes Thornton, Westminster and Northglenn.
Sen. Humenik fought to oppose job-killing regulations, cut wasteful spending and to keep our community safe. In addition, she worked on healthcare reform transportation issues and education opportunities for all children.
During the 2017 legislative session, Sen. Humenik voted to oppose Senate Bill 267, Sustainability of Rural Colorado. Though Sen. Humenik was up against special interests and Gov. Hickenlooper, she stood for taxpayers by voting against this bill. After all, we should be able to keep more of our hard-earned money in our own bank accounts, rather than a state account.
